Philips Components, Durham: 12-month pay freeze

Philips Components, a subsidiary of the Dutch electronics giant, has secured a pay freeze through agreement with its workforce at its Durham site, where the firm manufactures television tubes. Covering around 1,000 clerical and production employees, the freeze will last 12 months and is effective 1 January 2000.
