Poland: Anti-crisis package approved

The Polish Parliament approved an "anti-crisis package" of employment-related legislation in July 2009, which is largely based on an earlier agreement between trade unions and employers' organisations.

The main trade union and employers' organisations agreed on a package of measures in March 2009, notably involving amendments to employment legislation, aimed at preserving jobs and supporting companies during the economic downturn.
