Poland: Employers call for changes to dismissal procedures

Polish employers' organisations called in March 2010 for the abolition of the rule that obliges companies to notify trade unions about planned dismissals before informing the employees concerned.

Under art.38 of the Labour Code, if a trade union operates in a company, the employer is obliged to inform the union about any planned dismissal of an employee on an open-ended employment contract.
