Poland: Government plans reform of unemployment insurance

In summer 2008, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs announced a reform of the unemployment insurance system, raising the level of benefits but making them available for a shorter period and encouraging unemployed people to undergo training.

The government plans to amend the Act on employment promotion and labour institutions, which governs unemployment insurance.
