Poland: Higher fines imposed on employers
During 2007, the average fines levied by the National Labour Inspectorate on employers that breach employment law increased by more than 60%, following a change in the rules in this area.
The National Labour Inspectorate (Panstwowej Inspekcji Pracy, PIP) is the statutory body responsible for supervising and inspecting the observance of employment law, including health and safety legislation, by all employing organisations.
