Poland: Inspectorate targets illegal employment

During 2010, Poland's National Labour Inspectorate will clamp down on illegal and undeclared employment and is calling for new obligations on employers in order to tackle this widespread problem.

The National Labour Inspectorate (PIP), which is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with employment law, plans to step up its activities in 2010 to tackle illegal employment - that is, work which is performed without an employment contract, or not declared for the purpose of social security contributions.
