Poland: Nursing faces severe labour shortage

From 20 October 2007, new rules are in force that make it easier for nursing staff from other new EU member states to work in Poland. It is hoped that the changes will encourage nurses, especially from Bulgaria and Romania, to fill the many vacancies in the Polish healthcare system.
