Poland: Polish Post employees strike over pay
During June 2008, workers at the Polish Post postal services company went on strike for nine days in a dispute over wage increases.
Talks had been under way over a new collective agreement at Polish Post (Poczta Polska) since January 2008 and, with negotiations making little progress, the postal workers’ trade union affiliated to the NSZZ Solidarność confederation called an indefinite strike from 3 June.
