Poland: Tax officials threaten action over pay

In February 2008, tax officials became the latest group of public sector workers to threaten strikes in order to press for major pay increases.

Poland is currently witnessing a mounting wave of wage militancy by public sector groups seeking substantial pay increases, partly to catch up with private sector workers whose pay is rising rapidly in a context of economic growth and falling unemployment.
