Poland: Tougher penalties proposed for workplace safety breaches

In March 2007, parliament was considering a range of proposals designed to improve workplace safety.

They include doubling the fines for employers breaching their safety obligations, from PLN1,000 (€258) to PLN2,000 (€516), with the possibility of fines of up to PLN100,000 (€25,800) for persistent offenders.
