An estimated 8,000 skilled and unskilled workers covered by the precast concrete products industry National Joint Industrial Council (NJIC) have agreed a two-year pay and conditions agreement that increases basic hourly rates by 3.1% with effect from the first full pay week in April 2006. This means that the national minimum rate rises from £5.31 to £5.75 an hour, with the minimum earnings level now pitched at £250 a week, inclusive of all pay elements, for a 39-hour week.
