Scheme targets inconsistent councils

A new initiative started on 6 April to improve the consistency of local authority (LA) enforcement of business-related legislation for employers with sites in different UK locations. The Primary Authority (PA) scheme, which can include health and safety regulation within its scope, launched with three retailers, although up to 10 more businesses are set to follow suit in the coming months.
