Scottish printworkers: new deal agreed

Under the terms of a settlement negotiated by the Scottish Print Employers' Federation (SPEF) and the print and paper union GPMU, minimum grade rates for some 8,000 Scottish printworkers, employed in general printing companies, have increased by 3% with effect from 1 July 2003. Craftworkers (grade B) - the largest category of employees covered by the deal - received a rise of £6.99 a week, bringing their minimum weekly rate to £239.94.
