Spain: Automotive industry struggles to save jobs

The Spanish automotive industry announced further redundancies and lay-offs in November and December 2008 as demand for cars plummeted, although many companies have been seeking ways of saving jobs.

Job losses in the car industry have continued at a high level as demand has slumped in domestic and European markets.
