Spain: Government introduces labour market reform measures
The Spanish Parliament approved in June 2010 a set of labour market reform measures proposed by the Government, aimed at promoting employment and increasing flexibility, for example by allowing the wider use of special open-ended employment contracts that entail lower termination costs for employers.
In early June 2010, the Socialist Government concluded that talks with trade unions and employers' organisations over an agreement on labour market reform, launched in February, had failed.
