Spain: Government outlines labour market reform

The Spanish Government presented to the social partners in February 2010 a set of proposals for labour market reform, aimed largely at promoting stable employment and reducing the high level of temporary work.

During 2009, the Socialist Government tried on several occasions to open a tripartite dialogue with trade unions and employers' organisations on measures to combat unemployment and improve the functioning of the labour market.
