Spain: Health and safety strategy drawn up
In late June 2007, the Spanish government and social partners were finalising a national health and safety strategy for 2007-12, which will include incentives for companies that cut the number of accidents at the workplace.
Representatives of trade unions, employers' organisations and the government have been holding talks since spring 2006 in a "social dialogue group" on the prevention of workplace risks, and in June they reached a deal on a new health and safety strategy, which is due to be presented to the cabinet and regional governments soon.
