Spain: Legislative moves on self-employment and domestic work

In October 2007, Spain’s new self-employed workers’ statute started to take effect, introducing enhanced rights for some 3.5 million self-employed people. Meanwhile, the government published proposals to improve the position of domestic workers, another group not currently covered by normal employment law.
