Spain: Nissan announces job losses

In January 2008, the Spanish subsidiary of Nissan announced plans to cut 10% of the workforce at its plant in Barcelona, but offered to save some of these jobs if trade unions would agree to longer operating times and greater flexibility. The unions have responded negatively and called protest strikes.
