Spain: Outplacement faces problems during the recession
The massive rise in redundancies in Spain in 2009 has not been accompanied by a similar increase in the provision of outplacement for redundant workers, and the outplacement process is being made more difficult by the recession.
Unemployment has soared dramatically in Spain since autumn 2008, with the rate standing at 18.7% in May 2009 (the EU's highest level), up from 10.5% a year previously, according to Eurostat.
