Spain: Protests as Delphi announces plant closure

In late February 2007, the US-based auto components manufacturer Delphi announced plans to close its Puerto Real plant, near Cádiz, with the loss of 1,600 jobs. Up to 4,000 jobs at supplier companies in the Andalucía region are also thought to be threatened by the closure.
