The Stroud & Swindon Building Society has awarded employees all-merit rises from a 3% pot, effective from 1 January 2005. An additional 1.8% pot was allocated centrally to raise minimum salaries to £11,000 a year, and adjust customer support and customer facing staff salaries to the midpoint.

Individual increases ranged from 1% to 5% and were determined by assessments of competency and performance against objectives.
