Temps Directive on hold

The European Commission has consigned the proposed Temporary Workers Directive to limbo as part of an exercise to weed out draft laws which either fail to help competitiveness or stand little chance of reaching the statute books. The move could spell an end to the Directive, the need for which has been fiercely contested by trade unions and employer bodies.
