Thames Water: two-year pay and conditions deal

    Around 4,500 employees covered by collective bargaining at utility company Thames Water have agreed a two-year pay and conditions deal. The first stage of the agreement, effective from 1 April 2004, has resulted in performance-related awards worth between nil and 3.3%, distributed from a pay pot worth 3% of the paybill. The size of the paybill increase was determined by a formula based on the November 2003 headline RPI, published in December 2003 (2.5%), plus 0.5%.
