Transport: Road death leads to prison sentences but no driving disqualifications
A farmer and one of his employees have received suspended prison sentences after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an unguarded spike mounted on a tractor.
On 7 December 2001 at Birmingham Crown Court, farmer Edward Muntz and labourer Thomas Marchant were each sentenced to six months' imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, after being found guilty of causing the death of Richard Fletcher.
