UK: TGWU and Amicus vote to merge
It was announced in March 2007 that members of the TGWU and Amicus trade unions have voted to merge, a move that will create the UK's largest union, with around 2 million members.
Of those who took part in the ballot, 86.4% of the TGWU members voted in favour of the merger, while 70.1% of Amicus members approved it.
