Worker involvement pays dividends
Firms that involve
their workforce in managing health and safety report benefits in health and
safety and business performance that far outweigh the costs involved, according
to research commissioned by the HSE.1
Companies said that safety improvements, such as a halving of the reportable accident rate and the maintenance of standards during periods of major reorganisation and workforce reduction, were directly attributable to employee involvement.
