Workplace transport: Leggett Freightways fined for second HGV incident

Transport, distribution and storage company Leggett Freightways Ltd has been fined £100,000 after a warehouseman in Enfield was killed by a reversing lorry. The case comes just five months after magistrates imposed a £19,000 fine on Leggett for failures that led to an employee at its Stockport premises being hit by a lorry (Prosecution: HGV dragged 60-year-old employee across workyard).
