EU lawmakers have softened the AI Act, so employers only need to support (not ensure) staff AI literacy, and delayed rules on high-risk AI systems used in employment until 2 December 2027. They have also provisionally agreed to expand the Carcinogens Directive by adding new exposure limits and bringing welding fumes within its scope.
