National minimum wage rises
Implementation date: 1 April 2022
The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2022 (SI 2022/382) increase the rate for workers aged 23 or over (the national living wage) from £8.91 to £9.50. The rate for workers aged at least 21 but under 23 rises from £8.36 to £9.18 per hour. The rate for workers aged at least 18 but under 21 increases from £6.56 to £6.83 per hour, the rate for workers aged 16 to 17 rises from £4.62 to £4.81 per hour, and the apprentice rate rises from £4.30 to £4.81 per hour.
