Employee involvement in a European company
More than 30 years after it was first discussed, the Council finally adopted on 8 October 2001 (European Company Statute adopted ) a Regulation which provides for the setting up of European companies and the accompanying Directive, which provides for employee involvement in those companies. Both texts come into force on 8 October 2004.
