Without the use of HR & Compliance Centre, it would have cost us a lot of money in terms of needing to source legal assistance to ensure that the policies are legally binding and fully up to date.

Policy of the week
We have updated our Ordinary parental leave policy to reflect the introduction of day one rights under the Employment Rights Act 2025. We have also published a new version of our template Paternity leave policy (expected week of childbirth from 5 April 2026 or birth from 6 April 2026) to reflect the changes introduced by the Act. Now is a good time for organisations to review and update their own policies and internal processes to ensure they align with the upcoming reforms. Under the Act, paternity leave becomes a day one right, with the qualifying period removed, and the restriction preventing parents from taking paternity leave if they have already taken shared parental leave is removed. These changes take full effect on 6 April 2026. However, under transitional rules, eligible employees may give notice to take paternity leave from 18 February 2026.
