Accommodating religious observance - bereavement
In order to comply with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010, employers should, where reasonably practicable, accommodate the requirements of their employees' religions or beliefs when a death occurs. Some of the bereavement customs that may require arrangements above and beyond normal compassionate leave are listed below1.
