If there is a significant risk at work to the health and safety of an employee who is a new mother, or who is breastfeeding, that goes beyond the level of risk found outside the workplace, the employer is required to follow a series of steps to ensure that the employee is not exposed to the risk.
Ultimately the employer may be required to suspend the employee on full pay.
