FAQs: Right to work checks from 1 July 2021 and late applications for settled status
New rules for right to work checks for EEA and Swiss nationals are in place from 1 July 2021, as the deadline for applications under the EU settlement scheme has passed.
There is scope for eligible EEA and Swiss nationals to make a late application for settled or pre-settled status. The Government has set out a procedure for employers to follow if they find that an employee is in this position.
