Introduction

This training guide covers the right to holiday and holiday pay, including:

• the amount of annual leave workers are entitled to;
• when annual leave can be carried over;
• notice requirements to take leave;
• refusing annual leave requests fairly; and
• your role in ensuring workers take their leave.

Your organisation may offer more holiday than the legal minimum discussed in this guide, or it may apply different rules. As a line manager, check your internal policy and make sure you apply any additional entitlement correctly.
