Grievances - line manager training
Author: Lynda Macdonald
Introduction
This training guide looks at the role line managers play in handling employee grievances, and what the effective management of grievances looks like. It explains the importance of treating grievances seriously and illustrates how grievances should be approached, investigated, resolved and recorded.
The training guide reflects the "Acas code of practice on disciplinary and grievance procedures", which provides practical guidance on handling workplace grievances. As such, collective grievances are not part of the scope of this guide. Employers should have their own collective grievance procedures to address these types of grievances.
