Personal workplace relationships - line manager training

Introduction
This training guide explores the role of people managers in handling personal relationships at work. Although the training refers to romantic or family relationships between work colleagues, the principles are applicable to employees in such a relationship with a contractor, client or supplier, or with someone who works for a business competitor. The training covers:
- striking the right balance between employees' right to a private life and business interests;
- the disclosure of personal relationships;
- situations where a transfer to a different post may be appropriate; and
- dealing with unacceptable behaviour.
