Health and safety

Stephen SimpsonEditor's message: Employers have an over-arching obligation to keep their workers and any third parties free from risk of harm so far as is reasonably practicable. Staff are required to cooperate with and implement their employer's policies in this respect.

While it is impossible for employers to remove all risks, your organisation must do what is "reasonably practicableā€¯ to protect the health and safety of employees and others. In practice, this means that it has to take steps to reduce or remove risks only where the time and cost is proportionate to the danger.
