Editor's message: Workers who work regular hours are entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks' paid annual holiday. The amount is pro rated for part-time workers.
There is now a legal definition of irregular hours workers and part-year workers. This means that there are different statutory paid holiday provisions for irregular hours and part-year workers for holiday years starting on or after 1 April 2024.
Except where employers have opted to pay an irregular hours or part-year worker rolled-up holiday pay, workers must be paid at the rate of a "week's pay" for each week of their statutory annual leave.HR and legal information and guidance relating to annual leave and holiday pay.
